Hi everyone! Welcome to SOYU Studios 🎨👩🏻🎨
My name is Lyla Sowder-Yuson, the artist behind SOYU Studios. I am a 21-year old student artist studying at SMFA at Tufts University as a Senior. I am a dual-degree student, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Additionally, I am a Filipino-American artist with an international background. I lived in Japan for a large time during my adolescence, graduating from the American School in Japan in 2023. I studied abroad in the semester of 2026 in Madrid, becoming near fluent in Spanish.
My oils are very inspired by my diverse background and upbringing. I find beauty in life, foreign or familiar to my life experiences. I carry a traditional, art school style with my oils, but bring out the alternative in subtle ways, such as saturated colors, new techniques of painting process, and the way in which I represent my subjects.
Originals are one of one and come with a signed certificate of authenticity. I ship anywhere in the US, or you're welcome to collect in person if you can come to me. Email me or call any time.
